Mango People…………..

Probably you would already have seen many reviews on TV/News-paper and Google-d whenever found free minutes in office, which I assume is not hard. However, If that's not enough, mouth publicity does work wonder these days.

With couple of recommendations, I too decided to watch metamorphosis of Love from KAL to AAJ.

Being, Imtiaz Ali's movie, I found no risk for $10 but was curious to see who would share the confused space this time. "Socha Na Tha" had mystified Viren...... "Jab We Met" had confused Geet.
And this time he goes by the “Law of Equality” – apparently, both Meera and Jai sounds confused for most part of the movie, which seems pragmatically in sync with the Love-Aaj of contemporary Indian society.

However, unlike the Karan Johar’s droning Love story and like Imitiaz’s earlier project, this one take a closer look through a realistic approach on the subject of the confused youth. Nonetheless, a complex yet comprehensive direction keeps the audience hooked to screen.

Based on the technical concept of LDR (Long Distance Relationship), story moves through many cities including London – Delhi – City from Punjab – kolkata– SFO. At one point of time, I even felt jet-lagged.

Moving forward, despite of various means of communication used in movie, Love-Kal chased on bicycle brings smile on the face; where Veer follows Harleen, and she immaculately carry the demure smile with downcast eyes.

I definitely missed funny scenes like there were in “Jab We Met” – “Kyon dekhun Main Ganne Ke Khete… Kya Khaas Baat Hai Ganne Ke Khet Mein…… Nahin Dekhna Mujhe Ganne Ke Khet….

But then, it has enough one-liners and lighter moments to bring smile, including Veer Singh’s Love @ first sight and soon after his confession - “Iss Janam Mein Aur Har Janam Mein... Yehin Meri Votti Banegi…"

On the other hand, many times, lackadaisical expression of Meera, make the Love-Aaj taste like black coffee without sugar. Wish! She spends part of remuneration on some Crash Course to improve her facial expression. Apart from this, you gonna love the way each and every song carry the story forward.

Having said that, if you watch Love-Aaj-Kal without burden of expectations, it’s worth for 2 Hrs and whatever money you spend on it.

Last, but not the least, external factors does matter – like with whom you are watching, your mood and temperature of the theatre.

  2. Depends, if you have any Coke story, you won't be able to hate it either.

And as I say most of the time, its not the movie alone, enviornmental conditions and type of hormones released does affect ur choice. I am sure u wud agree on this else u wud not have commented on this blog after 18 months.
