Fw: Careful! Don’t open in Public!!!

Today, I forgot to carry my smart card and can't say how insane the day went after. From kitchen area to restroom to meeting room, you feel the need of it. Of course, lucky was me that I did not get into situation where intensity of the condition could have made it worse.
When thought the reason, I realized, I never actually bother for it as I assume it to be in the same pocket of my bag.

Then, @ lunch during a typical casual discussion, one of my colleague refused to accept that there is any room for monotonic in his life and he does everything perfectly to keep himself away from this word. Seconds later he became quiet and started searching something.

"Here it is," I handed him his water bottle which he had forgotten at other table.

"Sorry," he said graciously.

"No need to be. You do it every day, since I came here," I replied with a monotonous smile.

Perhaps, no one can define the monotonous word better than an IT professional, who lives it every hours of the day.

Still if, you too have any different version, close your eyes and think Monday till today as different file and use Alt-Tab. I bet, most of the time you would feel as if you did not press the combination key properly.

It's not what different things we do each day; rather it’s about the mind set which work like a pre-set algorithm. Every day, you make sure to park the car at same place, put the bag/purse in the same corner of your cubicle, open the Mail-Box and application in a pre-defined order and then look for something which I feel as the best part of IT life - Forwarded Mails.

Most of the times it set the mood for rest of the day, until you face some insane business or funny issues (yeah, these days I am facing the second one). Though it looks as customary stuff for the day, it defines more than we can envisage in our banal IT life.

I have no idea as to how it all started and became a universal means of communication to share interesting News, inspirational articles or the deadly jokes with our friends, family members, and even co-workers with a few ethical guidelines.

Almost everyone follows a pattern for Fwd-mail. No need to say that people maintain the different set of mailing list for different category of mails depending whether it is intended for Family members, college friends, same sex friends, colleagues or your close friends. Also, if required keeping Bcc too helps here.

If it is from your college friends, chances are that it will have suffix like – Careful! Don’t open in Public!!!
Or some innovative warning suffixes. Few times, the deadly jokes force you to rofl.
And if someone happens to take the suffix seriously, they fwd the mail to their private ID’s to hit it as soon as they find a nook. But, every time it does not turn out to be sleazy or Non-Veg jokes and later you feel lucky that you did not open it in office as it was about none other than your Dear Boss.

Further, as it moves from one mail box to another, people start adding prefix/suffix to make subject line deserving for at least one click.

I am not sure, if you ever have bothered to observe the typecast association of a mail with a sender and I feel it’s no way a blunder to judge a person by the kind of FW-Mails you receive from them. As I continue to write this, I assume you would definitely have some perception from the kind of blog I write.

Despite all the craps in the monotonous life of IT, Fwd’ed mails are the blessed phenomenon I feel. So, use it wisely, frequently and be sure that your Fwd’ed mail brings the first smile of the day on someone face.
